As soon as possible, we want to cover an open vacancy, for our Munich based office, in full-time (38 hours/week). Therefore, we are looking for a:

Application Manager (m/f/d)

Our Applications Team is actively looking for Application Specialists/Experts to join a growing team of skilled personnel directly in the Energy sector focusing on Power Systems. In this position you will be responsible for leading and driving the implementation of the new and existing software developments as it relates to new concepts and methodologies surrounding the electricity in the Power System Industry.This is fundamentally based on the European energy regulatory framework and EU policies.Taking ownership of the business continuity process and lifecycle management of products and services after project closure.

Your responsibilities

  • Develop and/or improve existing mathematical models for potential optimizations in electric power systems
  • Drive development (end-to-end) of applications by cooperating within cross - functional project teams and suppliers
  • Cooperate with internal stakeholders and counterparts to align on business needs and software solution proposals
  • Define and elaborate on data models for software development
  • Coordinate testing activities for 3rd party software development
  • Full ownership of the evolution of the software, proactively reviewing and documenting ways to improve the software deliverables & performance, raising these as improvement proposals such that products stay relevant

 

Your qualifications

  • Bachelor´s Degree in Science, Power System/Electrical Engineering or similar (a relevant masters degree is a plus)
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Extensive work experience as Business Analyst (ideally TSO background)
  • methodology optimization knowledge: including the fundamentals of e.g. MILP, awareness of non-MILP, the concept of approximating the optimal solution, invariance
  • Hands on experience with and understanding of static security analysis
  • Hands on experience in modeling power systems, incl. data exchange standards
  • Skilled with PSAT (DSA tools), PowerFactory, PSSE, PowerWorld but not looking for people with  PSCAD
  • Familiarity with the concept of probabilistic security analysis (nice to have)
  • Solid grasp of load flow theory and limitations for security analysis
  • Strong requirements engineering abilities
  • Strong exposure to software integration and testing
  • Strong in at least 2 of these languages: Python, C/C++/C#, Matlab, Java
  • Strong affinity to Information Technology, ITIL, Agile working in DevOps,  CI/CD Pipeline
